Certificates of Deposit

Oritani offers a wide range of certificates with competitive rates to meet your short, mid and long-term investment needs. Traditional terms range from 3-months to 5-years for personal, business, retirement and educational investments.

  • $1,000 minimum balance.
  • Interest is compounded daily and credited monthly
  • Interest rates are fixed until the maturity date. Annual percentage yields assume that interest remains on deposit.
  • Interest may remain in the account or be automatically withdrawn by check or transferred to another Oritani account.
  • Interest may be withdrawn without penalty at any time during the term earned. Substantial penalties may be assessed if principal is withdrawn before maturity.
  • Certificates will automatically renew for the same term at maturity.
  • Promotional Certificates of deposit are offered from time to time for various terms. These promotional Certificates will automatically renew at a traditional term specified at the time the account is opened at maturity.Principal may be added to or withdrawn without penalty at maturity and during the 7-calendar-day grace period following maturity.

IRAs can be an important tool for planning for a secure financial future. When you open an IRA at Oritani Bank, you can be assured that you will receive the same competitive rates and quality service that we guarantee on all of our products. In addition, you have the security of government-backed (FDIC) insurance for your accounts.

We offer a variety of retirement plans and products, Traditional IRAs, Roth IRA’s and Educational IRAs. Our IRAs are available as certificates of deposit or savings accounts. An Oritani Bank representative will be happy to review each one with you, and answer any questions you may have.

Please Note: If any of the deposit is withdrawn before the maturity date, a penalty will be imposed which could result in the loss of principal.

Traditional IRA – Available for rollover funds from your qualified retirement plan or IRA, as well as for annual contributory funds. See chart below for annual contribution limits. Some or all of your contribution may be tax deductible, depending upon your adjusted gross income. Interest grows tax-deferred, until you withdraw it.

Roth IRA – Available for rollover funds from your qualified retirement plan or IRA, conversion funds from your Traditional IRA, as well as for annual contributory funds. See chart below for annual contribution limits. Although your contribution is not tax deductible, interest grows tax-free when withdrawn as a qualified distribution.

COLA is a Cost of Living Adjustment

Coverdell Education Savings Account – Excellent opportunity to save for all education expenses; elementary, secondary, trade or graduate schooling. Anyone meeting adjusted gross income limits can contribute up to $2,000 annually per beneficiary under 18 years of age. Although your contribution is not tax deductible, interest grows tax-free when distributed for qualified education.
