OritaniBank Charitable Foundation Awards $14,000 Grant to Children’s Aid and Family Services

Township of Washington, NJ – December 28, 2010 – The OritaniBank Charitable Foundation recently awarded a $14,000 grant to Children’s Aid and Family Services of New Jersey in support of the Thomas R.S. Burgin Parents Fund, which provides assistance to college-bound teenagers aging out of the agency’s foster care system. While the students are eligible for subsidized tuition and room and board within the State of New Jersey, the Fund helps them with expenses for which they receive no assistance including clothing, toiletries and other living expenses as well as housing during vacation time.

OritaniBank Charitable Foundation Donates $10,000 to Visiting Homemaker’s CHEER Program for the Elderly

Township of Washington, NJ – December 23, 2010 – The OritaniBank Charitable Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to CHEER, the flagship program of Visiting Homemaker Home Health Aide Service of Bergen County. CHEER provides the elderly with weekly home care visits from aides who assist them with essential tasks such as grocery shopping, errands and laundry in addition to identifying any problems and arranging for help.

OritaniBank Charitable Foundation to Present $100,000 Grant to Center for Food Action

Township of Washington, NJ – November 22, 2010 – The OritaniBankCharitable Foundation will award a $100,000 grant to Center for Food Action (CFA) based in Englewood, NJ. A non-profit organization founded in 1976, CFA provides emergency food, rental and utility assistance as well as counseling and advocacy to individuals and families in need from more than 90 towns in northern New Jersey.

Township of Washington, NJ – November 22, 2010 – The OritaniBank Charitable Foundation is proud to announce that Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County is the recipient of a $100,000 grant, which will be used to underwrite the cost of building a 4-bedroom condominium in Waldwick, NJ. The condominium, dubbed the Oritani House, is actually part of a 4-unit Habitat development being constructed at 101 Wyckoff Avenue.

The donation will help underwrite the costs of the program’s direct care staff.

OritaniBank Charitable Foundation Awards $20,000 to Several Sources Shelters in Ramsey

Township of Washington, NJ – July 19, 2010 – The OritaniBank Charitable Foundation has awarded a $20,000 grant to Several Sources Shelters in Ramsey to help educate their young mothers and assist in job training. Upon receiving this grant, eight single mothers have received assistance in scholarships, child car, housing and transportation. These mothers have also been mentored by the Several Sources Staff to help ensure their success upon graduation.

Township of Washington, NJ – May 19, 2010 – On Saturday, May 8th, Oritani Bank celebrated the Grand Opening of their new Bergenfield branch office located at 223 South Washington Avenue. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Kevin J. Lynch, President and CEO of Oritani Bank and President of the OritaniBank Charitable Foundation, presented a $10,000 donation to the Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps, which has been serving the emergency medical needs of Bergenfield residents since 1941.
